Purpose
The foundation pursues exclusively charitable, scientific, and benevolent purposes. The foundation's purpose is particularly to support and rescue cats in need, including those with owners, strays, and feral cats; to assist cat owners in distress; to ensure that feral cat populations remain in their natural habitat and can be cared for there; and, if this is not possible, to provide unlimited asylum. Additionally, the foundation accredits and supports volunteer caretakers of feral cat populations. Support may be provided directly or through the assistance of other nonprofit organizations with similar goals.
Within its purpose, the foundation may oversee the operation of a cat shelter or sanctuary through a nonprofit organization or company domestically and internationally but may not operate it directly. As part of this activity, the foundation is authorized to acquire, own, rent, lease, sell, or assume land and properties under building rights.
